Nov 2012: 1st anniversary :D

I remember my trip to Texas in Nov 2011

On 11th of November 2011 I started my journey to Texas, USA to visit my friend Adamo and to see a friend again, that I got to know years ago in Germany. Here is the former introduction to my travel diary. Its been supposed to be written in both english and german, but it happend, that I had so many adventures to live and to enjoy that I had less time to post than I thought while being in Fort Worth and New Braunfels and Dallas. It was the sunny Sunday morning after Wurstfest visit. I still remember the shower in the tiny bathroom in beautiful The Faust Hotel, New Braunfels, TX. Jumping from one water jet to another. *grin* The beautiful old fashioned wooden cabinet, the curtains, the bed linen. Oh, and the train signal all night. The Wild West. ;)

Highlight of the day: lunch in Bavarian Bakery and Café. Lovely place to spend some time and having a nice chat. Thoughts: I could imagine to live a life having this kind of business. I really loved that restaurant and bakery.

Pre-Thanksgiving. :) We met at Ginnys place and celebrated pre/friends-thanksgiving. We had a very nice evening sitting outside and talking and Adamo was playing the guitar for us. I ve been surprised, that even these "young" people come together and prepared so nice food for each other (see pictures in link). I kinda miss these hang outs with the guys over there *sigh*.

It was a Sunday and I experienced two great situations: I have been listening to the Guitar Fort Worth Orchestra playing in Cooks childrens hospital in Fort Worth (see pictures in link - its a beautiful place) and I visited Dallas for the first time with a very important person (vip? LOL). I talked talked talked and somehow it happend that I found myself buying jeans and entering a karaoke bar, just as I wished. Huh, whats happening? Ok, lucky me, the bar had one of its non-karaoke nights and so I didnt have to sing. Might be good or bad. Who knows. We visited the place of Reunion Tower, we ve even been inside, but visiting the tower and the platform above was not possible. Its been closed. We were in a nice irish pub finally and had some cool beer and made very funny pictures. I swore, not to made them public. So I just giggle about it, when I think back. Later the evening my friend brought me back to Fort Worth, being a good navigator and safe driver the same time. Then in the radio...a song, I heard it before, but never paid that much attention to it. Well, I know, that MC likes Adele. And now I had to listen, since I am in this car and we are on the street. I could not help it but started silent crying several tears listening to the lyrics of 'Someone like you'.

Last year Thanksgiving was on 24th of November. So preparations happend on Nov 23rd. See link. Hmmmmm. Nomnom. Cooking Bigos and baking cakes and cookies. Recipes and shopping list: here. Oh! And for the Glühwein/Punsch: Red wine, cloves, and slices of lemons and or oranges. ;)

Now that finally Thanksgiving itself and all the cooking and baking was done, I visited Dallas a 2nd time. This time in daylight and by train. Fun!
