Good morning new week. Up to new adventures! Wish you all a sunny but not too hot time!
Maastricht:
Right now: 11,5°C little cloudy Today's forecast: cloudy, up to 21°C
Good start I'd say :D
I love Arrow Jazz FM - every morning a good morning *sing* Right now playing:
... It don't mean a thing, if it ain't got that swing It don't mean a thing all you got to do is sing It makes no difference If it's sweet or hot Just give that rhythm Everything you've got ...
*sing* Oh what a night! Had a great time with Astrid and her friends and later on Tessa and I discovered places to dance in. Shall no one ever tell me again that in town there are no places where you can go dancing *tzz tz tz*.
Good night.
...*yawn* Slept the whole day. Om nom nom. ;) Now off to an online lesson with Rosetta Stone.
My love, we have seen it all The Endless confession,The rise and fall As fragile as a child Lately I'm sorry I can't hold a smile
But I stand tall to get by No matter how hard I try to hide Did you know I take the time for you Did you know that I would see you through Did you know that I would play the part I must've made it clear right from the start
My love, can you give me strength Somehow I forgot how to ease my pain I know I'm right where I belong Something from nothing never proved me wrong
But I stand tall to get by No matter how hard I try to hide Did you know I take the time for you
Did you know that I would see you through Did you know that I would play the part I must've made it clear right from the start
I would share my whole life with you Would you do the same for me I would give all I am to you Would you do the same for me
And I will stand tall to get by No matter how hard I try to hide Could you see I've been brave Did you notice all my mistakes There were times I could feel you read my mind
Did you know I take the time for you Did you know that I would see you through Did you know that I would play the part I know I made it clear right from the start
Another gooood treat:
... and now its time to get ready for town. *la la laaa*
Did you experience that before? Being in the shower, warm cozy water. Turning the water off to foam you up, wash your hair. Water on again. Water getting colder and colder until ... iieeeeeek! ... only cold water runs. Argh. I ve been sitting in my old's apartment's bath tub in warm water, wanting to add more hot water and was disappointed by getting none. But standing in the shower with shampoed hair and only cold water to clean off - awwww. Brrrrrrrrrrrrr.
1. Find out what it really is, what it is made of.
~~> look at the label:
Ok. People! I am a German living in the Netherlands and am curious buying grocery in an asian supermarket... Have a look: Chinese Kai Laan Does that look like a white bar of Tofu? Eh - no!
~~> Recovering what happend in the shop: I ve been asking for different types of Tofu. I ve been shown something that looked like it but had another name
~~> Whats been the name of that product? Something like 'Tahoe'
~~> asking Bing what chinese Tahoe could be, looking first for pictures of it: 'chinese tahoe' Ok, shoes. Boots. Eh - no! 'tahoe' Ok, a wiki entry telling about Tofu. Language: dutch. Eh. Change to english. Ctrl+F Tahoe: no result. But one for 'taho' Clicking Taho. Finding out that that is the Tofu version from the Philippines.
Alright. So it IS Tofu. Oki doki.
2. Search for recipes.
Eh, seems like these Philippinos only do it sweet. Bärgs. (thats no word its a sound LOL)
3. Make a decision about how it will be treated.
~~> You look like Tofu. You will be prepared like it. And the journey starts: Jump into a bath of warm water, wait for the soy sauce. Enjoy the companionship of lemon grass, onions and goji berries and relax. See how good you look afterwards:
...and because everything is working easier WITH music - May I introduce you: Frizz Feicks Balladenladen (Frizz Feick's balladsbar? Literally it is ballads store)
Thank you, Frizz Feick, that you appeared into my music world. Highly appreciated. :)
Ohhhh, that reminds me postcards from Italy...let me find it... (searching for another video)...Here we are: (carefull! its different kind of music)
...back to cooking: and into the bath now jumps a bowl of white lentils. And... what else do we have...oh yes, baby, thats it: added a spoon full of coco nut cream powder. OMG tastes yummie already. A little spoon of Pataks Tikka Masala. Nom nom nom.
Good morning and happy Sunday dear world. I am sitting looking at my pictures from yesterdays sightseeing tour through Maastricht with my friend from Germany. Having a coffee and a chai latte afterwards.
I have to tell, that Arrow jazz FM is playing quite nice whistling, hips swinging music today.
Like that:
Now its time to get prepared for the time at my friends house. Looking forward to it.
Dont worry, its not that boring, its more like that:
Ein Frosch nimmt sich ein Mikrofon
und alle Frösche warten schon.
Da singt er seinen schönsten Ton.
Begeistert stimmt ein anderer ein.
Er möchte auch ein Sänger sein.
Da singt der Frosch nicht mehr allein.
Das ganze Fröschepublikum hüpft
angesteckt im Takt herum.
Die Froschfräulein knall‘n völlig um.
Da kommt ein Storch sehr würdevoll,
der findet Frösche einfach toll.
Er tanzt mit ihnen Rock’n‘Roll.
Flying storchs and flying Paula puppets all over the princess room. Here we are: we ladies, the princess and me. Eeeeeeking and laughing. ... Now we are head shaking and couch jumping to "...dont count on me, an engineer..." *la la la laaaaaa* ... And now, ladies and gentlemen, we are reading the whole package of todays ads. We just learned what a drill and a saw ist. The most impressing brochures are for sure those that are pink and bright colourful. Thats quite logical, right?
I'd say we ladies keep singing inside, not IN the rain:
We had avery nice played coffee and I got an egg and the princess had a toast, all out of the very well equiped play kitchen. Later we both got hungry. We started to prepare a snack, and what can you do ... when we were about to prepare the table a car arrived and mommy was back. Awwww. Time ran. Had a snack all together, watched several Mary Poppins videos and finally the very fine ladies brought me back home. Hope to have the honour quite soon again !
Since I am just back from a pre school girl, I will go now and have some classes. Ma salam!
But first: Today is Sunday. Remember? Will check the postsecret page right now. Yay.
- meet a friend that I got to know in the very beginning of settling here to Maastricht
- dont stay out late because of baby sitting plans on Sunday
Btw: (:
I dont stay out late, I dont care to go. I'm home about eight. Just me and my radio...*sing*
Work: done. Now lets see, if it worked out for my friend to find my office. He came over from Germany. He has a car. So should be no big deal at all.
... yay, we found each other quite quick. Wow, long time not seen. Its such fun time we spend together.
... We started by trying to find Mt St Pieter, which was not really easy, because neither him nor me knew how it should look like.
We went on by asking the navigation system what sights would be near and ended up at a place named Maastricht Grotten. We had a lot of fun seeing people standing at the river waiting for a river boat to go sightseeing. Even down there there has been a great view to the area, but see how it was like up there on the hill:
Little advertisement for the beautiful restaurant over there :D
We had a great chat at that restaurant and sat outside the building until it begun to rain again. Then we prefered to sit unter the outer roof of the terrace.
Then we went to town and had a little walk. We sipped a tea at Edd's café to walk on
Nearly in invisible in blue jeans and blue jacket on a blue-sy afternoon
Summer 2012 in Maastricht: Rain and thunderstorms - pure romantic (:
...to the Matuchi and had a shisha.
Had a nice chat again and enjoyed the smell of the apple tobacco shisha. We went on to a walk to Landhuis. And Landbouwelang. The Bassin. Such a beautiful place. Passing this house:
... (to be continued)
PS: In the end of the night I said thank you in
- indian (Asia market Forum Musae),
- chinese (Asia market Forum Musae),
- dutch (several times in town),
- german (to my turkish friend that is living and working in Germany),
- english (we spoke english) and
- arabic (at the kebab place-one of the guys has been from Irak).
Yay, I did it: First time in my life I cooked tofu and it looks quite fine.
In the water from which I took out the tofu I cooked rice in and onion and soy sauce and coriander and goji berries (see here).
Tastes better than it looks at the first sight :D
Hmmmmm, had a great lunch at work with my chinese grocery shifu. The soft tofu is really very soft :D Definitely worth chosing it again. Looking forward to my next cooking adventure.
... Do what you do with passion or just let go. ... Sometimes. ... Sometimes you have to let go. So I let go.
Tonight I am visiting the Matuchi again. Yay.
...back from the introduction to Edd's café. Finally know it. Back home via my favorite path (see here).
Tonight its gonna be a good night music. Made by friends of mine: I will follow you
I had a great after work adventure going to the local asia market with an "insider". She - she is a coworker born in China - made a very nice guide for me and my coworker and we all bought some funny, interseting, unusual, yummie looking, awesome chinese stuff.
Learned about different types of soy sauce. About different kind of coconut powder. Been shown very nice meals from the freezed section. Enjoyed the snack section a lot because of the very various funny looking sweets and salty snacks. Awww - its just been wonderland.
Looking forward to have some time for cooking quite soon.
Ah! Finally. It works. Will comment that soon with some pictures. :)
Sunday. Time for Post Secret.
Fullfilled myself two wishes: 1st one is my birthday wish: emptied all stuff of my dining table. Yay. Had a nice breakfast then. Now a little rose from Inden is making it pretty. 2nd: finally managed it to order my arabic classes from Rosetta Stone.
Cute confirmation text: شكرا That means "thank you" in your new language!
...and the journey began. I am leaving for my virtual classroom :D
