...PostSecret posted a video on facebook today. Will watch that now and consider linking it in the topics section...

Read something by Robert Ohotto today. I guess I will reasearch a bit more about his work...

Veggie evening meal

Chick peas, Tahina, arabic thin bread, milk, coconut cream powder, bright soy sauce, dark soy sauce...Sounds like hungry grocery shopping.

Now take this:

Weekend IV January 2013 - Moral Courage

Just watched this TED Talk:
Leslie Morgan Steiner: Why domestic violence victims don't leave
Thats the book: Crazy Love

Wow. Impressed. What a brave woman. Empowering herself and sharing with others to change whats clearly wrong.

Knowledge is power. More power to knowledge! More power to honestly brave people. You are my heroes.

...watched Zazie. Like it.

... and directly comes the next hero. Seems like its taboo day today. Great.

The New York Times - The Opinion Pages - Successful and Schizophrenic, Published: January 25, 2013

Dont say NO in any language

I ve never been so proud to own 25 wooden pegs...

We have that Friday event in the office named Five-o-clock-Friday. We meet and chat and have drinks for low prices. Great place for socialising and get to know people from all departments, from different countries and a welcome event for new starters.

This time a quiz night was organized and besides the quiz a party game was running, that worked like that: Come in, and have a peg. Clip the peg visible at your clothes. When ever you say "no" - in any language - you have to give all your pegs to the person you ve been saying the forbitten word to.  Its been awesome. I had fun talking to people that I didnt know before, just ask a yes or no question. One of my favorite questions was 'Are you married?'. I often heard 'did you cheat lately?'. I was asking a coworker (who was wearing a kilt) if he would wear weapons - too much fun, really.

Brrr cold evening

Another snow having day today. On the way home the cold bite into my cheeks quite a bit. Some grocery shopping with a colleague of mine and now relaxing time at home.

Rain Man

Somehow I have to watch Rain Man today. I hope I can learn some good lessons out of it.

Read about the asperger syndrome. I use the word autistic way a lot. Well, compared to people who dont use it at all. Maybe sometimes I just wish I were able to cut my social interactions down to minimum and dont care too much about what other people talk and what they do. Some times make me think of rolling myself into embryo position and thinking let-me-go. But its not that I want to stay away from people. Its just that I think, where have we humans come to? Is this society the outcome of thousands of years... of history, development, research, science, and learning from the past? And yes I also wanted to know why some people are different than others.

Snow in town that stays

I brought a hmm? eh? interesting souvenir from Luxembourg: left and right on my hips I have grown pieces of itching parts of skin looking like atopic dermatitis. Was it the water, that I felt so itchy after having a shower? Or was it the excitement from the several adventures we experienced? What ever it was: its cruely itching and its more then welcome to leave again!

First ride through snow with Emma. Brr. Cold, sure. But also very straining. Pheww.

This post in Sietskes blog made my day today.

Fluffy Duck :D

Yay, after a successfull accomplished mission for one of my friends I celebrate while cooking some *mmmmmm* ducky... Lets see:

Start: bring frozen duckies breast to room temperature: use the micro and put some red wine into a bowl, some piment corns, cut fresh garlic, sliced fresh apple and bye bye for the defrost programm in the micro.

Some preparation: talked to my friend the chef and asked for the fat to use to fry the ducky breast. He said olive oil would make it or also butter. But!!! First take the butter, let it melt in warm environment and take away the foam that will be build by the eggy parts of the butter...ok. *trying*

*lalalaaa*

Ok, what happend next? Well, I got hungry and had some bread and cottage cheese! *grin* Cleared butter is waiting for ducky in the pan.

Butter including egg white foam was used to heat up, fry some onion pieces and put in the veggie part of the meal. Let me look that up: Boerenkool (NL) is Grünkohl (DE) is Kale (EN). Now its cooking with some fresh garlic pieces peacefully. *gg*

What else: potatoes and peeled apple pieces and a few dice of onion are sharing a hot bath now. They will be spiced with a bit salt and nutmeg. Added an idea of nutmeg to the Kole as well.

And in the end the freaky part: frying the duck pieces. Aaaaaahhhhh!!! Tried to have it fried about 4-5 min on every side, skin side first. Its difficult to get out the wooden sticks after cooking. Needs some improvement, I'd say. Next time.

 Overwhelmingly amazing! Om nom nom.

2013-01-07 Monday Monday

Another day working in the beginning year. More and more coworkers are coming back from new years vacation.

I started to plan a little workshop at the company social club. I will try to keep it *secret*. Its not official yet, I first have to apply for my offer properly. So I am working on an agenda and a time chart for it. Lets see how it works out. ;)

Grocery shopping after work. Seen one of my tall good looking german coworkers in the grocery store :D. He's too cute: his sharp cut hair style and his cool glasses, I am close to say 'typical German'. Great that so many people work and live here in the city (a lot go back and forth to Germany or Belgium). He could quickly help me figure out where to find some bread. Well, what the Dutch call bread, he? *sigh* Found one brand that seems to be a good-enough bread for me and will have some Brotzeit (some german wiki explanation - the other languages' explanations differ a lot) now. Still have some red wine left. *check* Let the comfy part of the day begin. ;) *yay*

Brotzeit. Mahlzeit! Thats german. I'm just too used to it. ;)

Sunday January 6th 2013

Bread, butter and Hagelslag. With it a cup of Earl Grey. Hmmm. Great Morning.

Thoughts: I promised my friend from Heerlen to run a run in April with him. Well, actually I would do the 5k and he would do the 10k. Huh, maybe its time to finally get prepared and fight the fears and laziness...

Sunday: PostSecret Day. Lets check it out.

Just read another nice text by Paulo Coelho, some new years thoughts and wishes:

2013: the first year of the rest of my life
by Paulo Coelho on December 31, 2012

Watched 'Pay it forward'. From the soundtrack: Calling all angels

Watched 'A walk to remember'
