Saturday - and we had our own farewell celebration

My UK friend allowed me to have a nice dinner together and to go to the movies together afterwards. The Indian restaurant was proper filled and had no place for us so we went to the Tasty Thai. See here: http://www.tastythai.nl/  I brought a little farewell present and so we had our own little farewell celebration. :D Have good times back home, dear!

After the film 'Paranormal Activity' (oh no, has it always been a zombie film? how boring!) we said good bye and I ve been promised to be visited in February again. Curious about that now ;)

UK friend went home for travel preparation, I went to Mullins and was happy to see my two humans from Thursday again. This time they even brought two more friends with them. Yeah, we had a good time for sure. A live band was playing in the Mullins. Let me find their homepage if they have one... They do, see here: Take This

We even walked to one of the bars at the market place that are opend longer.

over the bridge

and to the market
Yeah. Met the friends from the Mullins again. Had some drinks and dancing and finally the guys took a cab and I went home tired through the cold but beautiful night.

Friday Oct26th

Oh my dear health, I am so sorry for torturing you that hard. Hui jui jui. I ve been brave and did what I had to do. Went home after work, thought I would sleep an hour or two to go to my UK friends farewell party and guess what happend - sure, I slept the whole night. Good for me. :)

Thursday Oct25th

Just wanted to go for a beer to the Octoberfest in the Mullins. Then I got to know two very nice humans. A man and a woman. Had some drinks and danced. Great night. Pleased to meet you guys.

...Had a hard time the next morning. I will not complain. Its been my own decision and own responsibility. *meeeeep*

New week, new adventures

I had a good Monday starting into my busy week.

- Tuesday after my shift I will have a meeting within the company. News, updates, company stuff.
- On Wednesday I see one of my chinese friends for a Sushi evening. She makes it herself and I want to learn that.
- On Friday I am joining a farewell party for a coworker of mine from the UK, that I started with. He is homesick and goes back to the UK.
- Finally on Sunday I will go to a bar where I have not been before. But since a friend of mine is playing with his band over there I guess it will be very nice though.

Left my bicycle in the shop to have it have an upgrade ;)
...and went my favorite path home

Weekend - work and chill out in Belgium

On Friday night nothing exciting happend, I took it slow, because I had to work on Saturday.

On Saturday: Getting up early and work from 8am until 2pm. Then cycling home - I used the bicycle now every day, because it was not raining. Then a little nap time. Surfing the internet and stuff. And then I met a friend. We talked about meeting each other earlier and so we finally hang out together on Saturday evening. We ve been to a bar in town, that I really liked. Will check out that later again for sure. Then we ve been watching a film together. I love battleship ;) Its already been the third time I watched this film. First time in german in a movie theatre in Germany. 2nd time in a dutch movie theatre in the Netherlands. And now the 3rd time in english again on TV. Had a very nice time hanging out together with my friend and I am also happy, that my amount of people that I know outside work is growing. Its a great area here: you can meet people from Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and besides the countries that are really close by there are also a lot of foreigners living, studying and working here. I love it. I am happy to have the possibility to improve my english.

I slept looong today, Sunday. When I got up, I made myself some coffee and just surfed the internet. And later prepared some clothes to be washed. Oh, I could check out the washing machine, if its already ready. Its Sunday, people. What do I do on Sundays? Yeah, check out postsecret.com...:)

I am re-reading the book The Prophet by Khalil Gibran since I took the train back from Germany to the Netherlands. Did you know, that this is the book that June Carter gave Johnny Cash in the Walk The Line movie? Nice detail, he? I love this little piece. Its like meditation to read it.

Back from good ol Germany

The journey back was even more interesting. I ve been asked several times how many stopovers I had-here you go:

o9:14 Dessau
o9.58 Leipzig

10:4o Leipzig
15:32 Dortmund

16:21 Dortmund
17:27 Viersen

17:44 Viersen
17:51 Mönchengladbach

17:59 Mönchengladbach
18: 39 Herzogenrath

18:50 Herzogenrath
19:06 Heerlen

19:15 Heerlen
19:45 Maastricht ...In Herzogenrath I chose the wrong train (which was leaving from the same platform 6min earlier, but to wrong direction) and so I changed at the next stop and had to wait another hour for the next one to the right direction. Arrived safe in Maastricht at 20:45.

And after all the train rides rolled together like a cat while sleeping - a nice beer in cozy Rambler.

AIDA Sunday in Dessau

In the afternoon we went to the theatre of Dessau for the opera Aida. I love that theatre of my home town. We ve been allowed to take place at a little discussion about Regietheater and calling a piece werkstreu or werkgerecht (have to look that up, will do that asap) at a quarter past 4 pm. The introduction to the piece was held public by Felix Losert and the piece finally started at 5 pm.

Read and see more here: http://www.anhaltisches-theater.de/aida

It was really modern/brought into today and it reminded me so much the wars that are going on right now, that I wonder how it would have looked like in the times of Verdi. With kings that looks like kings and princesses that look like princesses. You know - like going to the theatre on christmas and being bewitched by the fairy tales and costumes and the romantic music.
But, well, thats not the only intention of theatre, he? It might be true, that some people go to the classics to relax. But in the end, isnt there a responsibility of the tasks of a theatre? I ve been definitely not only given relaxation by the great music but also been opened my eyes again for fights that are going on nowadays. Even though we live in the 21st century and humans might think, that they learned from the past...It seems like as long long as there are human beings and as long as they can suffer from enviousness and missing love there will be fights about what ever they think its worth fighting for.
Anhaltisches Theater Dessau: you did a great job on this opera. I am happy that such amazing productions are played in my home town and I am proud to see that the theatre is been well filled this Sunday night.
